Grafting Workshop

Description: Calling all grafters! This is a unique chance to create your own fruit tree by learning the ancient art of grafting and take a couple of trees home with you. Taught by the Orchard Project's Lewis MacNeill, who has led workshops and courses in community orchards across the UK over the last 7 years. N.B. you will need to be competent in using a sharp knife and be confident in your whittling skills. We will provide knives but we urge you to bring your own just to make sure we have enough. If you have a favourite apple (or pear) tree that you want to propagate, take a cutting of a scion (pencil-thick length of last-year's growth) now and keep it in the fridge in a plastic bag until the workshop.

You will leave with two of your own grafted trees in pots. Please bring a bag to carry your trees home with you.

Free to community orchard volunteers/local residents
