SAGS launches campaign for PeoplesGardensScotland

Wednesday, July 12th, 2006

The term ‘People’s Gardens’ covers Allotments, Community Gardens, City Farms and School Gardens. SAGS believes that the health and social benefits of involvement with gardening is at least as great as for involvement with sport. At the conference in June this year SAGS launched a campaign to press the government to establish a body PeoplesGardensScotland along the same lines as the body SportScotland with a remit to support and develop gardening in the community. You can view or download the document outlining the campaign aims here. Please view or download the document and let us know how you feel about the proposals.
