BIG Project Enters Its Second Great Year!

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

The Biodiversity in Glasgow project is now in its second year and they are looking for new volunteers to take part in the survey. The BIG project is a survey of Glasgow’s green spaces for both birds and butterflies. It is suitable for people who are new to surveying and for those with more experience. Participants take part in the survey from April to July for birds and from May to September for butterflies.

There are training days organised for new volunteers. They take place on the 29 March 2008 for birds and 26 April 2008 for butterflies at Pollok Country Park Visitors Centre. Participants will be able to brush up on their ID skills and learn about the survey methodology.
