Annual Conference and AGM on 20th June
Thursday, May 28th, 2009SAGS is holding its annual conference and AGM on Saturday June 20 at the Victorial Halls in Dunblane (its usual location: conveniently opposite the railway station!) The conference begins at 10.15am.
The theme of this year’s conference is, “Sustainable Allotments in the 21st Century”. Following the format of the very successful conference in June 2008, the morning will be devoted to presentations on strategic issues. It will be introduced by Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Minister for the Environment. In the afternoon there will be reports from allotment associations and also groups across Scotland attempting to form allotment associations. These will be followed by a variety of workshops.
The conference will be of interest to local authority officers and other professionals with responsibility for managing or developing allotments as well as committee members of allotment associations and individual plot-holders. The conference programme is available for download at www.sags.org.uk/docs/progjune09final.pdf.
A light lunch will be available at around 12.30. Although the conference itself is free, donations will be requested to cover the cost of the lunch. For logistic and catering reasons it would be helpful if people wanting to attend would complete the booking form and return it to the SAGS secretary
