Scottish Allotments and Gardens Society

The SAGS committee tries to remain abreast of government and local authority initiatives that might impact on allotment provision in Scotland and to comment on any relevant proposals put out for consultion. We also try to influence policy by putting forward our own ideas and by networking with associated organisations. We want to involve as many members as possible in these processes, so all our comments, proposals and reports to other organisations will be published through links on this page.   • Ten Year Plan developed in September 2008 setting out SAGS aims and targets for campaigning over the following 10 years.
  • A report of the presentations given in June 2008 to the conference organised jointly by SAGS and Centre for Built Environment at Glasgow Caledonian University
  • A briefing paper on the potential contribution allotments could make to reducing an individual's carbon footprint.
  • A report by SAGS members showing how local food production, including production in gardens and allotments can help reduce climate change and preserve biodiversity
  • A briefing paper prepared to show how supporting allotments can help local authorities to implement targets and oucomes for the Single Outcome Agreement
